COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Jordan Bone had to be having flashbacks Sunday at Nationwide Arena.
The Tennessee junior guard got a good look at a 3-pointer with a chance to win the game and secure Tennessee a Sweet 16 spot, just as he did last year against Loyola Chicago.
He missed, as he did then. And Tennessee, which once led by 25, headed for overtime against Iowa, which frantically came back to put UT's season in serious jeopardy.
But Bone had his moment anyway.
He forced a turnover on Iowa's first overtime possession with UT ahead by two. Then he caught a Grant Williams pass on the wing in front of Tennessee's bench and nailed a 3-pointer just feet from where he missed at the end of regulation.
Tennessee is onto the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2014 and the eighth time in program history, beating Iowa 83-77.

The Vols scored 49 points in the first half but just 22 in the second before the overtime. Had Iowa won, it would have tied the greatest comeback in NCAA Tournament history.
According to the school, this is the first time Iowa has been in OT since a game against Temple in 2016, which they won.
Admiral Schofield had 19 points to lead Tennessee (31-5), which matched the program record for wins in a season.
Schofield led the UT charge early with 17 first-half points. But that was a distant memory by the time he sat on the bench in overtime.
The Hawkeyes stormed back incredibly in the second half, led initially by Tyler Cook. The junior scored nine in a row to open the half, while Tennessee could not put the ball through the hoop.
The Vols opened 1-of-9 from the field as Iowa trimmed the lead rapidly with Tennessee turning over the ball at an alarming rate.
A Joe Wieskamp 3-pointer, Nicholas Baer layup and Cook jumper cut the lead to nine with 13:35 to play as the Vols fell into a turnover habit.
Schofield, who was on the bench with three fouls, re-entered and made a jumper to calm the Iowa push. Turner drove and dished to Williams for a two-handed dunk to re-establish a double-digit lead.
Williams scored four more before Iowa cut Tennessee’s lead to five when Jordan Bohannon hit an absurd 3-pointer with 8:15 to play. Luka Garza made a pair of free throws to pull Iowa within three before Turner sliced through the defense.
Bowden made two free throws, pushing UT ahead by seven. But Garza converted a three-point play. UT turned over the ball again and Moss buried a desperate 3-pointer to make it a one-point game.
Turner made two free throws before he blocked a Bohannon 3-pointer, but whistled for a foul. The Iowa senior tied the score at 67.
Turner came down and hit a 3-pointer with 2:18 to play. Bowden made a free throw to put Tennessee ahead by four. Moss made a layup and Wieskamp made two free throws to tie it 71-71 with 20.8 seconds to play.
Bone missed a 3-pointer with four seconds to play and the game headed for overtime.
