Maryland coach Mark Turgeon got choked up after his team's last-second NCAA tournament loss to LSU on Saturday.
When asked by reporters what he told his players after a heartbreaking loss that saw the Terrapins one possession away from the Sweet 16, a tearful Turgeon couldn't hold back his emotion.
Turgeon said he told his players (via WUSA): "That I love 'em. I love coaching them. They made coaching fun again. I was proud of em. And they represented our school all year the right way. They're all great kids. And I don't know why it didn't go our way today. But they deserved better. And they can hold their heads high."

Turgeon led a Maryland team that ranked as the fourth youngest in the nation to the program's fourth NCAA tournament appearance in five years as a No. 6 seed.
The Terps escaped Belmont in the first round before coming up short Saturday after Tremont Waters' game-winning lay-up to end their season.
It was an up-and-down year for a Maryland team that never fully established consistency, but their tournament showing helped erase much of those growing pains.
