There are not too many things you can count on with the Cleveland Browns, but there is one way that they never let you down: Things are ALWAYS worse than they appear. It’s quite a magic trick if you think about it because, with the Browns, things usually appear pretty hopeless, pretty bleak, pretty dysfunctional, pretty much beyond repair.

But somehow, someway, the truth on the inside is actually much worse.

Tuesday, the Browns fired general manager John Dorsey. Or maybe they demoted him but Dorsey wouldn’t accept the demotion so he left. Or maybe they have their eye on a coach who wouldn’t work with Dorsey so they just moved Dorsey out of the way. Or maybe they sided with Browns chief strategy officer Paul DePodesta, who was reportedly at war with Dorsey. Or maybe …

Or maybe it doesn’t matter. It’s pretty pointless to spend too much time worrying about individual tires when you’re smack in the middle of a tire fire.
